I am looking for stories from men and women who have been out of abusive relationships and what has helped them stay strong. The book will contain the stories of men, women and children who are out of the abuse, what they did to escape and what they have done to stay strong enough not to return to that way of life. This book is to help others understand and as a support guide for women who want to leave and those that have just left. I remembering feeling so alone after my abuser was removed.
Please out of respect for your healing I am only looking for stories from those who are in a good place to share, if sharing will cause old nightmares to reappear or if this will cause you stress you are not ready to share. It takes many years to be able to help support another who is or was in your shoes.
My goal is to enlighten those who have never been in fear for their lives and mostly to keep the women strong that have left and wonder if they should return…..please forward this to a friend, share this…It may save a life.
What was your last straw? In detail, what happened that finally caused you to leave?
How long have you been free/safe?
Do you have children?
Can you see the difference in your children now that you are out of immediate danger?
How are they dealing with the aftermath? (You may supply a response in their own words is they wish)
What keeps you doing on a daily basis?
Please provide advice to a woman as she prepares to flee? Words of wisdom, warning signs?
If a woman based on your story is used what you would like me to call her.
Only a first name will be used and how long she has been free. You are so strong to have survived and live the life you deserve. Thank you for sharing your personal story! A portion of proceeds to benefit local Battered Women’s Shelters.
